Martin Engineering has introduced a new range of conveyor dust control solutions designed to reduce fugitive dust, improve safety, and enhance efficiency at bulk material transfer points.
The latest systems — ApronSeal Urethane Skirting, GravitySeal Self-Adjusting Urethane Skirting, and the A.I.R. Control Dust Curtain — have been developed to provide effective containment of dust and spillage without requiring additional energy. Suitable for retrofitting onto existing conveyors, the solutions offer a cost-effective approach to improving transfer point performance.
According to Martin Engineering, the designs prioritise safety, ease of maintenance, and durability. The ApronSeal system provides a tight seal along the skirtboard using a primary strip shaped to match the belt profile, with an optional secondary flap to capture fines. The GravitySeal system automatically adjusts to belt movement using torsion arms, maintaining a consistent seal and reducing the need for manual adjustment and downtime.
The A.I.R. Control Dust Curtain is designed for enclosed transfer points, where it slows airflow and creates recirculation zones that allow dust particles to settle. Its modular cartridge design enables safe and quick maintenance from outside the enclosure, eliminating the need for confined-space entry.
Together, the systems offer a passive dust control solution that supports compliance with air quality and workplace safety regulations while reducing reliance on energy-intensive extraction systems.
