The upcoming SMART Extrusion Conference has confirmed a new addition to its expert speaker lineup. Arne Heuer, Area Manager at AMANDUS KAHL GmbH & Co. KG, will be joining the event to deliver a technical session on pet food plant design and processing equipment.
His presentation, titled “Basics of Pet Food Plants: Introduction to Process and Equipment,” will be held from 11:30 to 12:05 on September 3, 2025. The session will provide practical insights into the structure and components of modern pet food production systems.
Arne Heuer is Area Manager of AMANDUS KAHL, responsible for the Asia/Pacific markets. He has been in AMANDUS KAHL since 2014 and has been active in the Asian market for more than 9 years now.
He studied Industrial Engineering (B. Sc.) at the Nordakademie – University of Applied Sciences cooperating with AMANDUS KAHL in a dual education system.
Additionally, in 2024 he graduated with a Master of Science in Sales Management from FOM – University of Applied Sciences after completing its extra-occupational program.
One of his main fields of activities has been KAHL feed technology, especially in mature Asian markets like Japan and Korea, but also in the fast-developing markets such as in Vietnam and Taiwan.
Through his work at AMANDUS KAHL, Arne is very familiar with grinding and pelleting technology. AMANDUS KAHL is global technology leader with its flat die pelleting mills.
Besides Arne is very familiar with the use of expander technology in feed milling, such as improved feed digestibility, an increase of feed quality, reduction of anti-nutritive factors.
Heuer joins an already distinguished lineup led by Dr. Mian N. Riaz, Director of the Extrusion Technology Program at Texas A&M University. Dr. Riaz will deliver multiple expert-led sessions throughout the morning on topics such as extruder selection, ingredient functionality, aquafeed manufacturing, and troubleshooting extrusion operations.
