Physical Contamination: Mettler Toledo Launches eGuide

Mettler Toledo Product Inspection Group has released a new eGuide, ‘5 Steps to Prevent Physical Contamination‘, aimed at helping food manufacturers strengthen safety programmes and protect both products and brand reputation. The guide offers practical advice on identifying risks, selecting inspection technologies, and implementing proactive contamination prevention strategies.

Foreign material contamination remains a leading cause of product recalls, and even small incidents can have serious consequences, particularly in today’s social media-driven environment. The eGuide outlines five key areas of food safety management: assessing risks, detecting weak points in production, choosing appropriate metal detection or X-ray technology, future-proofing inspection capabilities, and using digital data management to enhance compliance.

The guide highlights how Mettler Toledo systems, including Safeline metal detectors, X-ray inspection units, and ProdX software, can help manufacturers detect and remove contaminants while improving operational efficiency and meeting regulatory standards.

Food processors, including flour mills and feed manufacturers, can apply the guide’s recommendations to enhance both product quality and safety. The eGuide is available as a free download from Mettler Toledo.
