Low Carbon Agriculture Consortium showcases sustainable solutions at VIV Asia 2025

The Low Carbon Agriculture Consortium is making a strong presence at VIV Asia 2025, highlighting its efforts to promote sustainable agricultural practices. The consortium, formed during VIV Asia 2023, includes eight French SMEs from the livestock sector focused on reducing the environmental impact of agriculture.

The group aims to address several key challenges in the agricultural industry, including the reduction of xenobiotics, chemical inputs, waste recovery, greenhouse gas emissions, and water management.

One of the consortium’s members, Cooperl, has been working for over 15 years to improve sustainability through environmental initiatives, animal welfare, and resource optimisation. Cooperl operates a pig genetics farm in Thailand, emphasising circular economy principles to reduce its carbon footprint.

Another member, Nor-Feed, recently earned the B Corp certification after a rigorous two-year assessment of its environmental and social impact. The company focuses on reducing synthetic chemicals in animal feed through plant extracts derived from food industry by-products, helping to lower the environmental footprint of animal production.

Valorex, a provider of innovative nutritional solutions, has developed Tradilin, a solution that reduces methane emissions by using local, traceable raw materials. The company also limits the use of imported resources like soya, further reducing its carbon footprint.

MG2MIX, an independent service company that manufactures animal feed additives and premixes, has also committed to sustainability through the completion of its first carbon footprint assessment and the hiring of an expert in Life Cycle Analysis (LCA).

The consortium’s main goal is to expand its presence in Asia by offering a wide range of products and services that help reduce the carbon footprint of plant and animal production. Members stress the importance of collaboration, maintaining independence while working together to be more effective and provide greater value to clients.
