Coveris, a packaging manufacturer based in Vienna, Austria, has announced outstanding sustainability results following recent evaluations by EcoVadis. Almost 60% of its global sites have received a Platinum score, placing them in the top 1% of companies recognised by EcoVadis. Additionally, 30% of its sites earned a Gold medal, ranking them among the top 5%.
The company’s sustainability efforts are guided by its No Waste vision and an environmental, social, and governance (ESG) framework. Coveris aims to have all its manufacturing sites—spread across eight countries—assessed by EcoVadis to improve its sustainability practices continually.
EcoVadis is a leading organisation for assessing business sustainability, evaluating companies against 21 criteria within four areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Coveris’ top-performing manufacturing sites with Platinum scores are located in Germany and the UK. Notable Platinum-rated sites in Germany include plants in Halle, Rohrdorf, and Warburg, while in the UK, sites in Boston, Burnley, Cramlington, Gainsborough, Spalding, St Neots (x2), Leeds (Rivendell), Louth, Winsford, and Wisbech received this honour.
Gold-rated sites are located in France, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and the UK, contributing to the Group’s overall EcoVadis Gold rating.
Christian Kolarik, Coveris’ Chief Executive Officer, commented, “We are immensely proud of our record-breaking and industry-leading EcoVadis scores, which are a testament to our dedication in delivering on our No Waste vision and ESG priorities, every day.
“With almost 60% of Coveris sites covered by the most prestigious Platinum rating and now ranked among the top 1% globally assessed by EcoVadis, and a further 30% with Gold scores – placing them in the top 5% – this is an outstanding accomplishment that underscores the strength of our sustainability strategy. More than an accolade for Coveris, this is a significant step forward for our customers and the wider packaging value chain, reinforcing our shared commitment to a more sustainable future.
In June 2025, Coveris also won the Gold Award for Sustainable Packaging Business of the Year at the Environmental Packaging Awards in London, a notable recognition of the company’s strategic and measurable sustainability achievements.
