Alapala, Marata Expand Milling Partnership

Alapala and Brazil-based Marata Group have signed new contracts for flour milling investments totaling 1600 tons per day (TPD), expanding their strategic partnership following the successful operation of an existing 600 TPD mill.

The agreements, signed by Alapala International Inc., have a total project value of USD 12.8 million. Once the new facilities are completed, Marata Group’s total installed flour milling capacity will increase to 2200 TPD. Delivery of the new mills is scheduled for 2026, with initial equipment shipments already completed and the projects progressing according to plan.

The expansion follows the commissioning of a 600 TPD turnkey flour mill delivered by Alapala in 2022. The facility has operated reliably for three years, with strong performance in capacity utilization, product quality, operational stability, and energy efficiency, factors cited as key to Marata Group’s decision to proceed with further investments.

Alapala Holding Inc. CEO Görkem Alapala said the new agreement reflects long-term trust built through the performance of the existing plant and represents a significant milestone in the partnership, as well as an endorsement of Alapala’s engineering and project execution capabilities.

Marata Group is a Brazil-based food manufacturing company with operations across multiple food segments in Latin America, known for ongoing investment in modern production technologies and export-oriented growth.
