Bulgarian Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozukov, in his meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mesfer Bin Abdulrahman Al Hasib, stated that there are opportunities and potential to increase agricultural trade between the two countries, and that Bulgaria has a very valuable and high quality agriculture that should take its place in the Arab market.
The Bulgarian Food Safety Agency has launched eight import procedures for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. So far, four of them have been finalised. The main products are for fish and fishery products, small and bovine animals, honey and honey products. Work continues in areas such as poultry, red meat and meat products, dairy products and feed.
Ambassador Al Gassib reiterated the Kingdom's desire to cooperate with Bulgaria in the Livestock sector. He expressed that they are ready to intensify relations between the two countries in the field of agriculture. The ambassador stressed that after meeting with head of state Rumen Radev, he received assurances that the interim government is trying to establish a basis for cooperation in the next regular cabinet.
