Wittaya Aqua and Maverick Innovation partner to support commercialisation of animal feed ingredients

Wittaya International Inc. and Maverick Innovation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on supporting the development and commercialisation of feed ingredients and additives for aquaculture and poultry production.

The partnership aims to assist companies—ranging from startups to established firms—in bringing new or improved feed additives and formulations to market. The collaboration combines Wittaya’s data-driven services in nutrition and farm analytics with Maverick’s regional experience in Bangladesh, a key market for warm-water aquaculture and poultry farming.

The move comes amid growing demand for high-quality animal feed. In 2022, global aquafeed production reached over 50 million metric tonnes, and poultry feed rose to 570 million metric tonnes in 2023. Both are projected to grow steadily through 2030, increasing the need for effective nutritional inputs.

Evan Hall, CEO of Wittaya, stated that the partnership will help companies navigate trial design, product validation, and regulatory hurdles. Kabir Chowdhury of Maverick Innovation added that the alliance will strengthen market entry for clients by combining scientific testing with commercial planning.

The agreement also includes plans to conduct joint workshops, training programs, and industry forums aimed at connecting product developers with feed producers and farm operators. These initiatives will focus on knowledge exchange, technical validation, and strategies for market adoption.

According to Dr. Dominique Bureau, Co-Founder of Wittaya, the partnership is intended to build a stronger innovation ecosystem by supporting both product development and practical implementation in the field.
