Ucima, through its “We Make Packaging” brand, will participate in two major packaging trade shows in Africa: Propak East Africa in Nairobi and Propak Mena in Cairo.
The first event, Propak East Africa, will take place from 20 to 22 May, 2025, in Nairobi, Kenya. Ucima will organise a collective participation with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) featuring 17 Italian packaging companies. Kenya is Italy’s third-largest trading partner in packaging in East Africa, with a trade value of €4.1 million and a 12.3% market share.
From 2 to 4 June, Ucima will also attend Propak Mena in Cairo, Egypt. Egypt is the second-largest importer of packaging technologies in Africa, with imports in 2024 totalling €207.6 million, up 30% from the previous year. Italy remains the top supplier to Egypt’s packaging sector, with €70.3 million in exports and a 33.9% market share.
The events in Kenya and Egypt mark the next stops in Ucima’s ongoing effort to promote Italian packaging technologies globally, following successful exhibitions in the Philippines, South Africa, Vietnam, Algeria, and Uzbekistan.
