Essmueller designs and builds turnhead distributors for many different material needs. They offer round and flat-back designs in 60°, 50° and 45° slopes and sizes from 6” diameter to 48” diameter with capacity of up to 120,000 bushels per hour. These turnheads are available in manual and electric controls. Their standard model features the (TE) dust tight enclosure or with the (IIG) explosion-proof enclosure per customer request. Electric models can be ordered with the optional “Smart” control package that moves the turnspout in either direction for the shortest route to the selected spout. The unique flat-bottom design allows them to seal the space between the turnspout and outlet opening to minimize dust accumulation inside the turnhead.
This design also allows us to offer a 360° rotating seal in their round turnheads which covers all inactive outlet spouts. To ensure a long life and lasting performance, They offer wear liners in urethane, abrasion-resistant steel and ceramic hex tiles. All turnheads are equipped with large access openings in the main body and drive housing to ease maintenance and routine inspections. Essmueller’s standard housing construction is carbon steel with a quality enamel finish, however they do offer a hot-dipped galvanise or stainless steel construction.
