MiXscience has been awarded the EcoVadis Gold Medal, achieving a score of 82/100 and placing the company among the top 3% of more than 180,000 companies assessed globally over the past year.
The recognition marks a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen sustainability practices across its operations, particularly within the feed and animal nutrition sectors. It also reflects MiXscience’s ongoing commitment to supporting more sustainable livestock production through innovation and responsible sourcing.
The company reported substantial progress across all four EcoVadis assessment pillars. The most notable improvement was recorded in responsible purchasing, where MiXscience increased its score by 22 points. This was driven by the implementation of group-wide procurement guidelines, enhanced supplier assessment processes, and the integration of sustainability criteria into sourcing strategies, including alignment with Avril Group policies on palm and soy.
In the area of social and human rights, the company improved its score by 17 points through updated HR policies, employee engagement initiatives, and structured reporting on diversity, training, and workplace well-being. Environmental performance also advanced, supported by expanded reporting and the acceleration of life cycle assessment (LCA) tools to better quantify the impact of feed production at farm level.
Further progress in ethics reflects strengthened transparency and employee training aligned with group standards.
EcoVadis is widely recognised as a global benchmark for corporate sustainability, assessing companies across environment, labour practices, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The Gold Medal underscores the robustness of MiXscience’s sustainability framework and its growing role in advancing responsible practices across feed and grain value chains.
