Milling Forum Europe Debuts to Unite Europe’s Grain Industry

A new chapter for Europe’s grain and milling sector is set to begin this September as the Association of Cereal Research (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Getreideforschung e. V. – AGF) launches the inaugural Milling Forum Europe, a pan-European platform designed to foster innovation, collaboration and knowledge exchange across the milling industry.

Scheduled to take place from September 7–9, 2026, in Brussels, Belgium, the new event builds on the AGF’s long-established milling technology conference, which has served the industry for more than 76 years. The organization hopes to establish a truly European conference that represents the technological prowess and diversity of the grain processing industry on the continent by extending its reach beyond Germany.

About 300 people from the milling and grain industries, as well as researchers, scientists, and technical specialists from throughout Europe, are anticipated to attend the inaugural ceremony. To promote communication amongst industry stakeholders, the program will include keynote addresses, technical workshops, and scientific presentations, along with special networking opportunities.

An exclusive guided tour of the BiGu Group’s new CERES mill, which will provide attendees a first-hand look at cutting-edge milling equipment, contemporary production techniques, and the most recent developments in grain processing, will be a major highlight of the first forum.

The new Milling Forum Europe will alternate between milling locations throughout Europe in subsequent editions, in contrast to its predecessor, which was customarily held in Detmold, Germany. The event will include an integrated exposition with over 40 businesses displaying the newest goods, services, and innovations for the grain and milling industries in addition to the technical program. It is anticipated that the show would give sponsors, suppliers, and exhibitors important chances to network with decision-makers and business experts from throughout the European market.

Konstantin Golombek, Managing Director of AGF, said the new initiative represents an important milestone for the sector. “With the Milling Forum Europe, we are creating a platform that bridges the tradition and future of European milling,” he said. “Our aim is to promote innovation, strengthen European dialogue and bring the industry together within a European context.”

The conference will be held in both German and English with simultaneous interpretation to guarantee accessibility for a global audience. Interpretation into French and other languages will also be available, subject to demand.

The official Milling Forum Europe website, where prospective delegates may also discover information on exhibitors and the program, is already accepting registrations for the first-ever Milling Forum Europe. Companies that are members of AGF are entitled to reduced registration fees.

The new forum seeks to become a premier European gathering place for the grain and milling community while fostering innovation and cooperation throughout the industry by fusing technical know-how, global networking, and useful industry insights.
