Martin Engineering has announced the appointment of Darren Gilbert as the new Managing Director for its Australia operations. This move comes as part of a major expansion, which includes setting up two manufacturing facilities—one in Yatala, Queensland, and another soon to open in Perth, Western Australia.
Gilbert, originally from Newcastle, Australia, has over 30 years of experience in the industry. His career includes roles in prominent companies across Germany, Australia, and China. Recently, he managed divisions in China and India, focusing on conveyor components and service teams.
On the Australian bulk handling market, Gilbert said, “The main standout is the ongoing need for production efficiency, driving significant advancements in automation and AI technology.”
Gilbert aims to enhance Martin’s operations by providing comprehensive solutions to improve performance. “I’ve learned the importance of providing a complete solution to improve operational performance instead of just quick fixes or band-aids without follow-up,” he noted.
His strategy focuses on efficiency, safety, and superior engineering to optimise how all components work together, notes the company.
