Canadian grain company G3 Canada has announced plans to construct a new 65,000 tonne grain terminal at the Port of Trois-Rivières, Quebec. The new facility will replace an existing terminal and aims to improve efficiency, safety, and reduce environmental impact.
The new terminal will feature three high-speed receiving lanes to reduce wait times and increase grain handling capacity. Additionally, the facility will include modern ship loaders equipped with dust control technology. G3 Canada also plans to redevelop the port infrastructure to enhance traffic flow to and from the port.
“We are excited to make this significant investment in the Port of Trois-Rivières,” said G3 CEO Don Chapman. “This new facility will strengthen our commitment to Quebec producers and enhance the experience for our customers.”
Demolition of the existing silos is scheduled to begin in March. G3 Canada is a growing player in Quebec’s grain industry, specialising in the import and export of grains such as corn, soybeans, wheat, and rye. The Trois-Rivières and Quebec City terminals are strategically located to serve agricultural producers and accommodate ships transiting through the St. Lawrence Seaway.
