Fortifi Food Processing Solutions has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Deighton Manufacturing Ltd, a UK-based provider of forming, coating and frying equipment, expanding its portfolio into modular and lower-throughput applications.
The Fortifi Deighton acquisition reflects Fortifi’s broader strategy to offer complete, full-line solutions for food processors of all sizes, including those in the bakery sector – a key area of interest for grain millers.
“Deighton is an important step in expanding Fortifi’s capabilities into modular, flexible and lower-throughput applications, broadening our reach to a wider customer base while complementing our core expertise in large-scale, fully integrated processing,” said Massimo Bizzi, Chief Executive Officer of Fortifi.
Deighton brings over 25 years of experience in forming, portioning, coating and frying technology to the Fortifi brand portfolio. The acquisition includes production capabilities in the protein, fish, dairy and bakery sectors.
“Together with Provisur Technologies and Nothum Food Processing Systems, we can deliver high-quality forming, coating and thermal applications across all production volumes,” Bizzi added.
Deighton produces continuous and batch processing equipment for consumer products including nuggets, burgers, appetizers, vegetables, cookies and international foods. The company has strong geographic coverage across the UK and Europe.
Mark Dowdle, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Business Development for Fortifi, noted that Deighton aligns well with growth markets in Latin America, India and Southeast Asia.
“Deighton positions us to accelerate expansion into emerging markets and support a broader range of food processors globally,” he said.
As part of Fortifi, Deighton employees will join the company’s broad-based ownership programme.
