LANKALIVESTOCK 2019 forecasts more than 5000 visitor footfall
LANKALIVESTOCK 2019, Sri Lanka's number one feed, livestock production and processing exhibition and conference forecasts a visitor footfall of more than 5,000 feed and livestock industry professionals.
Held at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre (SLECC), from 17 to 19 January 2019, the Expo's 2nd edition will see the participation of over 150 exhibitors including country Pavilions from China, India, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand.
The three-day event will be hosted by the National Livestock Development Board (NLDB) with the Honourable Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development Rural Economy leading the Opening Ceremony, on 17 January 2019.
Over the past three decades or so, Sri Lanka's poultry and livestock industry has developed tremendously from a backyard system to commercial status. Moreover, the country's poultry meat consumption is on the rise at 189,020 metric tonnes (MT) of chicken, with an annual growth rate of three percent in 2017. Demand is estimated to rise even more in the coming years, driven by population growth, income growth and urbanisation.
In line with the above developments, LANKALIVESTOCK 2019 will complement the growth of Sri Lanka's animal husbandry, grain and feed production, aquaculture and agriculture sectors. Covering a wide range of fields related to the livestock industry, the Expo includes an International Exhibition, seminar, technology workshops, and business networking sessions.
