Milling and Grain joins with the Mills Archive Trust in the UK, establishing the Milling Hall of Fame.
The Milling Hall of Fame is to recognise and honour significant individuals, both modern and historic, who have made incredible contributions to the development of milling from its rudimentary mills driven by water and wind power, to the modern, sustainable and energy-efficient mega structures common today in both feed and flour production.
The ‘Heroes’ of the industry are those who others can identify a ‘point-in-time’ that this individual has changed the industry for the better.
Nominated by not one or two people but by many, these inductees to the Milling Hall of Fame are pillars of our industry. The evaluation of those to be inducted are carried out by an independent committee based on submissions and applications received from across the industry.
The FlourWorld Museum in Wittenburg, Germany, which was founded on the initiative of flour treatment company MC Mühlenchemie, is dedicated to the history of flour and its essential importance for humanity. The museum is the home of the award and where inductees are presented with this once-in-a-lifetime award.
For more information you can reach out to either Roger Gilbert, CEO and Publisher of Milling and Grain at rogerg@perendale.com or Vera Ferreri, Marketing Manager of Mühlenchemie at vferreri@stern-wywiol-gruppe.de
