Melinda Farris, the CEO of the International Association of Operative Millers outlined some of the highlights from this year's long awaited IAOM Middle East and Africa held in Zanzibar from October 25-28, 2022, with Roger Gilbert, publisher of Milling and Grain magazine.

MAG was in Zanzibar for the conference-cum-exposition which attracted over 500 delegates and some 80 exposition stands to report on the event. Ms Farris, who is also a IMEF Trustee, supported the IAOM MEA regional leadership successful hosting of the 32nd IAOM MEA event and highlighted some of the key outcomes from the conference, pointing to the re-focusing of the grain trade away from a global approach to a more regional market due to the impact of the war in Ukraine and the impact it has had on both that country"s supply of grains and supplies from Russia itself.
