Aquaculture Africa 2021 finally took place from March 25-28, 2022 in Alexandria, Egypt after being postponed last year. This was the first World Aquaculture Society African Chapter meeting following the group's establishment during a meeting in South Africa in 2017. Long overdue this first meeting attracted over 1700 registrations, held 70-plus presentations and offered visitors a hall full of exhibitors attending from across three continents. International Aquafeed magazine had the opportunity to conduct a number of interviews and a notable one was with DSM, which discusses the outcome of its half-day seminar held during the event. Roger Gilbert interviews Bo Groth Bendsen the Manager of Aqua Marketing EMEA at DSM and Dr Benedict Standen who is DSM's Head of Aqua Marketing Global. Both make reference to key aquaculture issues surrounding gut health, the potential of phytase, the impact of aflatoxin and enzyme use in aquaculture.
